So, Friday night I got pretty excited and while on the way home I got nervous. Why? It wasn't because I was drunk, don't have a blink or one of my head lights are out, it was more of that I was afraid that Jon wasn't going to make his OWN Suprise party. This was a 50% chance by now because he told me that Angela and him had been fighting that whole day and that if things don't get well it won't end in good terms by him going to a party; that for him. What the fuck, right? So, I go to bed at 4:30 A.M. After a lovely chat with other friends who stay up that late and hope everything turns out right the next day. I know I should not be the one to worry about this because I'm only there for entertainment purposes but it seems everytime I'm to play a show that I have to be the one who is organizing everything. Blach! But only did this time I felt more in charage because it was my boys suprise party; also the guys' from A.C's but they couldn't make it due to house occupation reasons (Psssht! Bartenders).
So I wake up and just put everything behind me and act like it's a regular saturday and screen my calls and just try to relax. Eventually I make it downtown and seems alright, weather is shitty but I could care less. Then, it comes down to where's the grill and do we know anyone who has a tap? Apparently some random girl was supposed to bring a grill and I was supposed to have a tap. No and No. So, finally we decided to bake and stove cook the chicken, steaks, burgers and hot dogs. It all turned out well but really slack. So, during the middle of all the eating I told Preston to go get the keg, so he started collecting money; we already had the money last night and I told him not to spend it but he didn't listen and bought beer and food with it all, for us, but it was still reserved money and poor planning.
Well, finally a full keg is at the house but still no tap, so, John S. Has to throw in his $50.00 that he just made for a tap and THENNN he still didn't have cups. At that point I was kinda pissed off not only because of all that but because Jon said he couldn't make it because of Angela. But, like how I was feeling early that morning, I was just there to play and drink.
I played for two and a half hours and it was so good to see everyone dancing to what I thought was going to be something that those kids wouldn't like because I know some of them like Rap but definately not Euro-trash Techno, they are all more of rock or indie kids. They liked it. VOILA! Sunday was another rainy day but was a good one because I got to see my family; mother and sister, and her roommates and some other friends that I don't normally see, for a lunch/dinner that I couldn't finish because I had the best Mexican food in Charleston earlier. Ended up in Mount Pleasant, ewww, for a short while playing guitar hero and waiting for this girl to call us for some random keg party in James Island that actually turned out pretty cool, only if those two girls had taken Warren and I home, stupid grandmother. But, we prevailed and headed downtown to another party where again I was confronted by a girl to "pass out" with her but I was too tired and said I was "going to the bathroom," but just ended up sleeping on the fourth floor of the house. That house was sooo huge! You wouldn't believe me if I could tell you, but I doubt I could because there is limited space in these blogs, I think.
So I wake up and am looking for Warren for a good five minutes; because of the huge house, that I ended up taking a break and sleeping again, untill I looked at the west side of the house where he was snuggled next to Emily, awww. We left to go eat at Juanita Greenberg's, where I will be playing the next three saturdays, and ran into Lindsey and Renee. I love those girls to death. Renee asked if I wanted to hang out later and gave me her number and I asked if we could play in the park which she agreed to bring a frisbee. Gareth, Nick, Preston, Warren, her and I all played basket ball, frisbee and skateboarded, well some of us, untill it was just to tiring. I never realized how out of shape we were; stupid beer. But, it was fun. Later on that day Warren and I went to the shoe store, Cole Haan, where I got those sick shoes from to see what other shoes are there and I saw some sweet ones that were just as expensive and Warren found some too. Also, the boat shoes that Warren let me skate in/have were in that store and costed $90.00! Anyways, the guy who fitted me for my shoes was there and I told him that I wore the shoes to my gig and he asked if I was a muscian. I said, "Yeah, I mean, I play drums, bass and fool around other instruments, but I was D.J'ing Saturday." He asked what kind of style do I do and I told him Mash-Up's and he got excited and asked if I have future gigs. I told him for the next three saturdays I'm playing Juanita Greenberg's and in between then just random events. "Are you looking for any other places," he asked me. I told him some and he told me to hold on.
I was confused but awaiting who he was calling and it turned out to be the owner of one of the venues I said I want to play. The man asked me if I wanted to play Torch, a scandelous bar on King St. I screamd yes and then he went on to telling me that bebe found a last minute D.J. That wasn't too good but got paid well, say I drop by Juanita's sometime and listen, I could probably get you there for their next fashion show. I told him, "Ohhh man, if you did that for me I'd have to ask bebe for at least $300.00" We exchanged information and I left so amp'd for the rap show that was later on.
The rap show really only had two good guys but it was cool that it was a house party rap show, we don't get too many of those here. Gareth and I went to Caroline's house and drank a few before passing out. It was a long day and I was all sore. Today was the lazy day and it is still lazy. I think I'm definately going to sleep by 11:30 P.M. Tonight, I'm not really looking forward to school but hopefully I can get enough rest. Things are looking great in the future!
