Wow, first of all thank you so much for giving me so much support. Visually and direct-vocally. I knew that it was going to be a good weekend when I had mad e-mails saying how they can't wait to see me or hear my new/old stuff. It's been a hot minute since I've been back to Columbia and they sure know how to party and like to do it as much as we do down here in Crunktown. There is mass documentation from my crew so pictures should be up on myspace later today or tomorrow. Holler at them: myspace.com/slothpuppets
Funny side-story: In the A.M. Hours of between 2 & 3 we, Conrad, Matt and I, got very hungary and had no clue if there was any food around so we went to the next thing, a corner store. We get there get our shit and see a troubled man waiting in the back of the line. I guess this was prime time for people to hit up this store. Anyways, we get ready to be next and home boy just falls down and starts sleeping. He dropped all his slim jims and three dollars, his hat fell off too. The people were nice enough to stick his slim jims and $3.00 into his hat and put it on him. "Buddy you better wake up before the cops come for their free cup of coffee," the cashier yelled. All of us laughed and left to go drown ourselves.
Saturday was about all over the place in Charleston. Running on six hours of sleep we zoomed back to our house to try and nap but the "itch" came back and we had to do what we had to do. Leaving my house of Jay's was a trip I don't think worth taking. After being surrounded by about seventy scene kids and sixteen-year-olds(same people), I had to sit through a bad crossxfading D.J. He had good remixes though. I got to play for twenty to twenty-five minutes and then the cops came. A lot of people did thank me so much for that almost half-an-hour of dancing. I didn't think people would dance because it was early and it wasn't hardcore music being played. Hmmm. People do that darndest things, huh? I thought I was in deep shit because I, and about several other people, where the only people there that were 21+. The cops just let me go, I guess because I had to pack up my stuff. The night wasn't completely lost because I was invited to play the V-day party at 89 Columbus street.
Ah. These are the people I couldn't wait to see. As soon as I walk up with my 22" speakers I hear someone say, "Oh shit. THE D.J. IS HERE!"
"GEOFF'S HERE! PARTY TIME! YEAHHHHHHH!" Then the countless people who came up to me when the band was ending to ask, "Oh. Wow!? You're playing?" It was just a twinkle in the star system and it gave me a nice feeling in my heart to be loved. On V-Day. Thanks Hallmark!
Speaking of star system, I was going to try and figure out what astrologically happend on Saturday night/Sunday morning; 7:25 A.M., that was really significant. It had to do with the 7th & 12th houses alignning and creating the Earth's inner love to be released. Anyways, I'm not sure if I'm right or not but you should check it out on Google or something. Well I gotta end this because that damn PS3 is calling my name but I will leave with a quote.
I think Jessica Ferrell said it best when she told me at the bar on Sunday, " just because of so many reasons of having such good friends, and that just only being one catagory, is the reason I don't think I can leave Charleston." Amen sister!

The One That's About Music, Mostly
To get the reminescent things from the mountain out of the way, I will just tell you by short sentences. Okay. Go!
- Lots of drinking and weed smoking.
- Drum solos.
- Me incorporating: "Shoot'er!" and "Clevah gal," from Jurrasic Park, as drinking shouts. If you remember from last year I was able to get everyone: A. Respect Bryon Spicer. B. Have everyone scream at the top of their lungs "Ooze" and "INCONCIEVABLE!"
- During P.J. Pong someone flashed their asshole. Pretty amazing.
- Nudity snow sledding.
- scrapes and black eyes, again.
- I slept/passed out several times on Saturday.
- Dragged down the stairs to get liqour poured down my throat, again.
- Almost saw my "roomies" fuck.
To say the least, it was a great time and everyone enjoyed what all of us, as an entity, have been waiting for for the whole year. If you'd like to see photos and a video of what went down, you can visit my myspace page. www.myspace.com/slothpuppets and go to the "This is How We Party. Fuck Yr City." Album and the video is the newest upload so that should be on the main screen when you go to the "videos" part under my defualt picture.
Now, for the music part. The first tale is an exciting one that entails jazz! So, at a house show that my sister was playing at I saw an old friend that I LOVE TO DEATH! She brought up how she misses Hi-liter Hearts, the band that we started with another, and that since she moved back; yayyyyy, she wants to start something. Well, I know her voice, so beautiful, and think it's for a very specific type of music(you should know what style that is, reader). So about a week or two later my friend from Columbia comes to my area and she speaks to me about how our old guitarist just doesn't want to play music with her and I tell her that me and my old friend are going to be working on a project and that she should be envolved since they both have such great voices. There's only one problem, I have no band mates that talented in that area, nor do I have a convienent practice space, so it looks like I might have to be the one writing all the music. This would be no problem to me if I wasn't already swamped with other shit. I do not want to fail them so I will be trying my hardest. This is where you come in, reader, if you know any artists who are skilled in the field of jazz, mostly lounge, please-please-please-please-please-please-please let me know! Call/message/e-mail me as soon as possible. I already have some ideas building up to a song I just need to finish them and get the timings right for all. One of the hardest parts, which I've forgotten is getting lyrics to match with the style of music. Of course it has to be a bunch of heart breaking stuff but the tempo has to be right as well. Yuck.
I've been running into other band member a bit and he tells me he's going to SXSW! I'm so jealous! Not only is he going but he's playing. It's insane. I would love to play that shit. I hope all goes well, I would want to go with him but alas, school, work, other band, starting another band and minor skateboarding. That's what I get. Everyday! Yikes!
Today Ishkra, my new band with John Michael, R.J. Paul, Kevin Clayton and I, is going to start recording. I think it will be a late session because of everyone getting out of class; which I didn't do today, so I better be prompt. Unlike R.J. During our show. Holy shit, everyone, this is a story...
See all week we thought we were going to be playing a local venue so we had been practicing extra hard. We've only been a band for a month now! So, anyways, it turns out that the show couldn't be booked at the venue so we decide to throw it at our practice space. Enough people come we're ready and the vibe is set. Then out of left field, well, actually he'd been getting shithouse since practice, R.J. Is, well, shithouse. These are the events that made him look like an asshole and us a suck-band; though people did like us, oddly enough:(this is all R.J. Too)
- Knocks over keyboard first song
- Fucks John Michael's amp first song
- Runs into Kevin first song
- Elegantly runs into my drums second song
- The head of his bass guitar makes it to the back of an audience member's neck; drunk fall status
- By the end he throws his bass guitar on the floor and continues to drink to where he is throwing up in the bathroom by the end of our set.
After the last band, for some reason, people wanted to see us again. What the fuck!? I dont' understand. John Michael is drunk and Kevin and I are the only ones sober so by the end of the 2nd set it's just Kevin and I playing party-jam music. All-and-all it was a good show? Oh yeah, and by the time everyone was leaving R.J. Punched John Michael in the side of the face and then got pushed into the road. He ended up at a bar. Great!
Well, the new NEONGOLDEN!! Mixtape: 7tween (+bonus of course)are going to be released for Feb. Next weekend and I'm very excited because there are a fair share of pre orders that are coming via-myspace.com so if you want yours you know where to go message me. I guess you could do it here too but I check the myspace account more since more people message me through there anyways. Another perk that seems to be in the near future is NEONGOLDEN!! Will be in production of shirts-form. You know usually I do not charge for my D.J. Stuff but now this is serious money coming out of my pocket and there will probably have to be set prices so I'm sorry but you gotta respect ya boy and his needs. The key is I have two friends working on designs and I'm also working on one. I'm more stoked to see what the friend's are making because I have my set design, I just need to work on it. I hope it doesn't come out to "hipster'ish" though but it looks like it will be going in that direction. For the time being you can be excited, like me, by donating money for the new mixtape that will be out next weekend! Just let me know what your address is and/or if you want to meet up and do an exchange. I also barter for mixtapes, meaning if you got something that you can give me, art, fine food, wine or alochol, old clothes and accessories, I will gladly take it.
Hope life has been getting to you like it has for me. SOUP'S READY!
